Caring about the environment is important to all of us. At Taylor Morrison, we believe
it's important to do all we can to help preserve the environment for future generations.
Whether it's designing and building homes that use sustainable materials, increasing
the energy efficiency of our homes, or simply recycling the building material waste
on our jobsites; we're committed to improving the environment through lessening
our impact.
There are three core elements to the approach we take in designing and building
homes – energy, efficiency and the environment. Taylor Morrison approaches homebuilding
with an eye toward delivering these elements in all of our homes. Our goal is to
build energy-efficient homes by drawing on technology and building methods to lessen
the carbon footprint of our homes.
Taylor Morrison is an ENERGY STAR partner and constructs ENERGY STAR certified homes in
several divisions. ENERGY STAR is a program endorsed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
that sets strict energy efficiency guidelines for household products and new home construction.

ENERGY STAR Disclaimer
Not all Taylor Morrison homes participate in the ENERGY STAR® program. Please
visit your local Taylor Morrison community for more information. Taylor Morrison
is a proud ENERGY STAR® partner committed to providing the latest generation
of ENERGY STAR certified homes. ENERGY STAR ratings were updated from Version 2.5
to Version 3.0 for all Taylor Morrison's Austin Division homes started as of a 1/26/12
pre-construction start date and such revision supersedes any prior sales/marketing
materials. To earn the government-backed trusted ENERGY STAR label that identifies
our homes as truly energy efficient per rigorous independent verifications, a home
must meet strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency ("EPA"). Based on studies performed by or on behalf of the EPA, qualified
homes are estimated to be at least 15% more energy efficient than homes built to
the 2004 International Residential Code (IRC), and include various energy-saving
features that typically contribute to making them 20-30% more efficient than standard
homes. For our environmentally-conscious buyer seeking excellence in their "green"
choices, please ask our knowledgeable team members or visit www.energystar.gov to
learn more about the benefits of an ENERGY STAR qualified home. ENERGY STAR®'s
name and logo are registered trademarks of the EPA.

We now utilize the nationally-recognized Home Energy Rating System (HERS) as the
benchmark for our homes, helping you quickly determine the energy efficiency of
the homes we build. The lower the HERS number, the better. For instance, a standard
new home will score 100 on average according to HERS. A Taylor Morrison homes typically
receive a HERS rating in the 60s or 70s.
Examining essential elements in the building process (higher R–value insulation,
radiant barriers, jump ducts, low–E windows and better water management)
help us achieve these HERS numbers. We also use innovative energy efficient products
like tankless water heaters, solar panels and water recirculation pumps.
When it comes time to build your new home, our Boomerang program ensures that we
recycle as much wood, concrete and cardboard as we can on each jobsite. This eye
toward sustainability cuts the amount of materials that make their way to the landfill
and assures you that we're committed to a green program that examines and expects
efficiency at each stage.
